Earth Day!

Sure today is technically Earth Day, but isn't every day Earth Day? It should be!

A few months ago I came up this wonderful idea, Eco-Friendly Art Photography Prints... kind of a mouthful but a great idea.
You see, I get so tired of feeling guilty for all the packing materials that I use to ship art prints, that were shipped to me by the professional printers, so that's twice that packing materials had to be used to ship this one print to someone who still has to worry about frame, mounting, etc.
And I had to mark up my prices constantly to cover my printing and shipping costs and the costs of the materials I was going to use to ship the items....

Seems so silly doesn't it?

Don't you wish there was a faster, more ecologically friendly way to obtain great photography prints for your walls, custom wedding invitations, blank greeting cards, next collage project, or even for that small business just starting out but can't afford the high end stock photography subscription prices.....
I did!
I created Tredlight Photographs, ( http://tredlightphotographs.etsy.com ) to help fill this need.
Unfortunately, nobody else seems to understand what a great idea this is because I've only had two sales.

I'm feeling a little bit down about it all. I can't honestly believe that the person who cares enough about art to spend $50-100 on just one print couldn't see the value in buying the original file and getting it custom printed for the chance to not only be a little "green" but to save a little green and yet get a wonderful high end look.

I mean think about it.... how many times have you seen art that you liked but it was the wrong size, or it was printed glossy and you prefer matte prints?

Here's how I hoped it would work for my store, that someone would fall in love with a print, buy the print from me, I'd email them the print and a list of my favorite printing places that are online, they'd shop around for exactly what they wanted, upload the file, and voila! the print just gets shipped once to the happy customer who was able to order that photograph at just the perfect size, and maybe even in a different tone.... custom art for those of us on a budget, and come on, who isn't on a budget these days?

I'm posting the link to my store here, send it around to your friends and maybe, just maybe my little idea will find a happy home somewhere,
It's Earth Day, buying from my store is like giving the Earth a little hug, and hugs are good.
